Two months in and I think it’s safe to say I’ve settled into Melbourne pretty well, to the point I’m even considering extending my flight and staying the full year, travel up North and see what else Australia has to offer. With my Ozone ENDURO’S and the 2016 Axis Limited and Division, I’m now all set for some sweet sessions. We took a trip out of Melbourne to Point Henry before Christmas, 40+ degrees and a strong northerly wind, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else but in the water. With 25-30knots, butter flat water, a 9m C4 leant from Kite Power Australia and My Limited, I was in for a good time. This last weekend I took a trip with Go Kite kitesurf school, down the coast in the other direction to Inverloch, an inlet two hours from Melbourne. It’s a beautiful place to ride with many sandbars, definitely one of my favourite places so far.
We got a 30-35knot easterly and had to cancel the lessons.. It only meant one thing- a free ride for ourselves. It was the first time I’ve taken the 7m Enduro out of the bag, greeted with the pleasant sound of crispness and fluorescent orange, I got it rigged up and my boots on. I can’t remember the last time I had such a session in crazy conditions like that. One bad crash and a painful back that will put me off the water for a few days but I’m looking forward to being back after some good rest! |
