Redcar was a really good weekend, apart from the lack of wind that meant that the competitions did not get run. Friday We arrived at Redcar after a long boring 4 and a half hour journey, so we were very eager to hit the beach and the water, but we arrived to find people on the beach or sitting on the wall.... Where was the wind! Later on in the day we found Jack Daykin and we headed to a beach further down and managed to kite in a see breeze which was so good! We were all powered nicely, I went out on a 12m Naish torch, but soon had to get a smaller kite. Jack, me, and some other kiters from Hunstanton decided to do a downwinder to where t Saturday Was very hot! With no wind, the 'Kite Crew' just lazed around on the beach, in the water and with the kite bar that was swung over a bridge in a lake nearby. The wind did pick up in the late afternoon but it was very light. I did get out on a 12m again but was heading downwind. Sunday was much the same as Saturday. Apart from Sunday is the leaving day, so this meant saying goodbye to all the crew and 'see ya at the next event'. The kite events are so, well... eventful, many laughs and jokes and kiting!!
