For the second year running the final event was held at Blackpool. We arrived Thursday afternoon and parked down the beach front.... The waves were massive! And the wind.... well it was crazy and a little bit colder to what I was used to.
It was that windy, so the BKSA ran a second discipline competition for the Pro riders. Riders had 7 minutes to be judged on one by one... kite loop, trick and big air. Friday was a little less windy. So all the events were able to run in one day. It was awesome watching everyone go big and occasionally seeing someone put in the odd kiteloop. The Am ladies were ran nearer the end of the day and the wind had been gradually building, race director Mark Ward even approached us all and asked if we were happy to compete... And we did. The heats were tough because of the conditions we were faced with. But I made it into the final with Chloe and a friend from Hunstanton- Poppy. I was chuffed to bits when I realised Chloe had won the heat and with Poppy coming 2nd. That evening we all got dressed up to go out for the prize giving. At the end of the night they announced the results for the 2011 season: Danielle- 1st Chloe- 2nd Polly 3rd
