Hunstanton Lifestyles Festival is an event we all look forward to! Not only is it a kitesurfing event, but they have lots of other activities going on too with a massive party. It is also our local riding spot, with butter flat shallow water and lagoons.
For the past events held at Hunstanton there has not been much wind.. But this year the forecast looked really good SW wind which meant it should be warm too :) Most of the competitors arrived the Friday which was very hot, reaching 30'c so there was no wind. We had a lot of schools down too which was great because Hunstanton Watersports was offering free Stand Up Paddle boarding and windsurfing and they were all loving it! Saturdays weather was not as lovely as Friday... We woke up in our caravan with lots of rain and wind. Where was the sun?!?! However this was very good for the kitesurfers.. Not so much the BMX'S, we were able to run all the heats and get some practise in before. Danielle: I love riding at Hunstanton so much, I am in my element with the flat water which is perfect for the freestyle though the weather made the water slightly choppy though it didn't bother me too much. I went out before my heat powered on my 10m and landed a raily to blind as my first trick! I was stoked! It was a shame I then couldn't do it in my heat. The heat was good, I was riding against Poppy and Rosanna and we were all landing our tricks. After the heat the results were announced and I went straight through to the final with a 1st. Unfortunately for Chloe her kite was tangled with another competitors leaving her in the water most of the time, not on the water! Chloe finished overall at Hunstanton with 7th place. Overall it was a great event, they announced the points that night and I was congratulated with 1st place, also joined with Polly Crathorne- 2nd and Poppy Hawkins- 3rd.
