Now we were all looking forward to Barrow... This must be the only event that has wind every year! Also because I had told everyone at the previous event I was dying my hair... And you never guess what colour..? It had to be PURPLE!
We arrived there on the Friday evening to be welcomed with lots of wind and other kitesurfers which was great, it was a nice warm atmosphere with everyone round the bbq eating and talking...Shame we can't say the same about the weather, lots of rain!... So we made the most of getting an early night. Saturday it was very windy.. It was reaching 25-30 knots! Most of us were all on 5m and 7m kites. We competed at low tide which was more of an advantage for us Hunstanton riders- Myself, Chloe, Poppy and Keira because of the flatter water. Competing was all a good laugh... Aiming at me, with purple hair dye all over my face and white rash vest (I looked very cold!) The announcement of who was to be in the final came and it was all of the Norfolk girls! Danielle, Chloe and Keira. This made the heat a challenge purely because we all know how each other ride so we wanted to nail everything we could. Overall Saturday was great: It was also Poppy's birthday which we celebrated at the pub a bit later on where the results were also announced. Am Ladies results: Chloe Durrant- 1st Danielle Durrant- 2nd Keira Alwood- 3rd Looking forward to the next event!
