Unfortunately I was unable to attend the awards night at the Sports Campus, but it was great news to find out that I had won Sports Woman of the year from the College.

Just before the event took place, I had to meet some news paper reporters for photo's to promote the event and kitesurfing! Friday was the day where the festival invites lots of schools in Norfolk to come down and check out the event. This year they were split into groups and they had a chance to experience all of the things going on... Stand Up Paddle boarding, windsurfing and parkour. Luckily the weather was nice and sunny, but still no wind. There were some great stalls which anyone can check out, check out the picture below of my shop sponsor! During the evenings of the festival, they have live music and plenty of alcohol! They was a great crowd and I was enjoying myself. There was no wind on Saturday either, but it was shorts and t-shirts weather so I wasn't complaining, so competitions were unable to go ahead, we were praying on Sunday!
Sunday's weather... Well it was downpour, I was drenched from head to toe. As the wind was blowing off-shore the BKSA crew decided to set up another little event- who can set up their kite the quickest. I was too slow to even get my kite so I missed this. In the end the called it off for the day, the prize giving was done early afternoon and everyone was off by 3.30pm. A nice little evening at the club to finish off a good weekend all round with a BBQ and all the volunteers! It was a shame the event didn't roll over to Monday, the wind was great all day and I had a fantastic session! |
